    Rain Water Tank Project

By the end of March 2013, we have been able to build 5314 water tanks in five provinces including Kampot and Kampot Speu provinces. These water tanks provide fresh water for over 248,886 children for the first time in their life, a huge health plus.

     Dental Clinic Project

Due to the growing demand for dental care, our three dental clinics, including a mobile clinic has now treated  37,720 children since they began.  Our dedicated dental staff have now performed  15,245 tooth extractions and 413 root canal fillings to date. The dental records now stand at around 27,052 cases of restoration and 13,299 cases of prevention that our staff attended in those clinics. Our very generous dentists, along with the volunteers are able to treat more than 1000 children a month.

    English Classes

We have started 7 more English classes at Serey Theny Public School bringing the total number of English classes to 109 with a total of 2,727 students. These classes are facilitated by 49 teachers, including 2 classes for recently opened for bright students, enabling them to receive extra tuition.

    Computer Classes

Computer classes are expanding into various regions of  Cambodia. We have started one more Computer class at the Seray Theany Primary School. By the end of March, 2013, we have had 420 students in the 57 computer classes that have been established.

    Non-Formal Schools

We now have 8 non-formal schools under our care with 204 children.

He now works for himself and the family by becoming a tour guide in the local area which is popular amongst foreign tourists because of a mountain cave.

Pen says “ I can speak English pretty well right now and it isn’t necessary to ask for money from my parents any more. I now earn around $7 a day, especially on weekends”. He is planning to become a tour guide.

We kept to our promise of building 5000 water tanks by the end of 2012. The 5000th tank built at Ponleu Phday Primary School in Traing district was declared open by Mr. Chuon Veasna, the District Education Officer of Traing district. As at the end of March we have built 5214 new water tanks. Thanks to our donors who generously contributed to the project .

We are asking our regular donors and those who have yet to practice their Dharma to help us to provide drinking water for these wonderful children. Rest assured. All our tanks (100%) are in good use as we maintain them on a regular basis. The first set of 8 tanks we built in 2005 are still in wonderful condition and are regularly being used.

We are building water tanks while you are reading this article.

That is 3 tanks a day!!
